Here is a typical "shutdown" script.  (Select "run startup & shutdown scripts" in the "global" pane of the "preferences" dialog.)  When you quit Tex-Edit, this script will save the current state of the workbook document.  When you re-launch Tex-Edit, the workbook should be restored by the "startup" script.
